OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Starting & Stopping
• "COLD STARTING" is when the engine is cold.
• "HOT STARTING" is when the engine is hot or warm.
STARTING THE ENGINE
STEP 1. Set the throttle Control
FOR COLD STARTING: Move the throttle
control lever to the CHOKE position.
FOR HOT STARTING: Move the throttle
control lever to the RUN position.
STEP 2. Open the fuel tap to "ON" position.
STEP 3. Pull the starter grip lightly until
resistance is felt, then pull briskly.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
STEP 1. Move the throttle control lever to
the STOP position.
Blade Replacement
For Your Safety
• Never use the mower unless the grasscatcher or guards supplied by the manufacturer
are in position.
• Before starting the mower check blades and bolts for damage or wear.
• WARNING: If you strike an obstruction, stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug lead
and check blades for damage and periodically inspect blade adaptor for cracks, replace
when necessary.
• CAUTION: Worn and damaged blades are major hazards.
• DO NOT lay mower on side.
• CAUTION: Be sure to disconnect and ground the spark plug wire before working on the
cutting blade to prevent accidental engine starting. Protect hands by using heavy duty
gloves to grasp the cutting blade.
• We recommend replacing that the blade bar, washer and bolt be replaced when
changing the blade bar.
• Use only genuine replacement parts. Insist on them from your parts and service dealer.
• Use of non-genuine blades may void your warranty and could result in damage or injury.

Do not allow the starter grip to
snap back against the engine.
Return it gently to prevent damage
to the starter.

Ensure the spark plug is connected
before starting the engine.
Ensure engine & blade come to a
complete stop before releasing the
handle & touching any part of the
mower.
