When the probes are perpendicular to the weld and the scanning direction is parallel
to the weld, the Mini-Wheel encoder is installed on the outside of the encoder holder
(see Figure 1-5 on page 14).

When the probes are parallel to the weld and the scanning direction is parallel to the
weld or when the probes are perpendicular to the weld and the scanning direction is
also perpendicular to the weld, the Mini-Wheel encoder is installed on the inside of
the encoder holder (see Figure 1-6 on page 15).
