When using this machine, observe the following safety instructions to exclude the risk of personal injury or material damage. Please also observe the special safety instructions in the respective chapters. Where applicable, follow the legal directives or regulations for the prevention of accidents in relation to the use of this machine.
  • Page 6 INSTRUCTION MANUAL 17. The OPC/Brake lever is a safety device. Never attempt to bypass its operation. Doing so makes the safety device inoperative and may result in personal injury through contact with the rotating trimmer line. The control lever must operate easily in both directions and automatically return to the disengaged position when released.
  • Page 7 SERVICE Safe Handling of Petrol: 1. To avoid personal injury or property damage use extreme care in handling petrol. Petrol is extremely flammable, and the vapors are explosive. Serious personal injury can occur when petrol is spilled on yourself or your clothes, which can ignite. Wash your skin and change clothes immediately. 2.

  • Page 11 UPPER HANDLE 1. Remove the triangle knobs and carriage bolts from the left & right upper handles. 2. Place the upper handle into one of two height position holes on the middle handle by pivoting and fastening with the triangle knobs and carriage bolts. ENGINE RECOIL STARTER HANDLE 1.
  • Page 12 INSTRUCTION MANUAL TRIMMER GUARD 1. Pull the trimmer shield out into position by pivoting and lining up the holes. 2. Secure with the three bolts and nuts supplied and fasten it to the main body of the machine as imaged below.
  • Page 13 PRE-OPERATION FUEL & OIL WARNING YOUR MACHINE IS SUPPLIED WITHOUT ENGINE OIL OR PETROL Operating the engine with insufficient oil can have catastrophic consequences.   • Page 14 INSTRUCTION MANUAL ADD ENGINE OIL Only use 4-stroke SAE30 or 10W/30 air cooled lawnmower engine oil. DO NOT USE automotive or marine oil. 1. Remove the oil filler cap with built in dipstick (G). 2. Fill the engine with 4-stroke SAE30 or 10W/30 air cooled lawnmower engine oil. DO NOT USE automotive or marine oil.
  • Page 15 OPERATION ENGINE STARTING & STOPPING PROCEDURE STARTING THE ENGINE - COLD 1. Press the engine primer bulb up to 3 times. 2. Pull the OPC/brake lever towards the top handle. 3. Grab the recoil starter handle and pull lightly until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly. CAUTION Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine.
  • Page 16 INSTRUCTION MANUAL STOPPING THE ENGINE 1. Release the OPC/brake lever to stop the engine. USING YOUR TRIMMER Be sure the trimming area is clear of stones, sticks, wire, or other objects which could damage the trimmer or engine. Such objects could be accidently thrown by the trimmer in any direction and cause serious personal injury to the operator and others.
  • Page 17 MAINTENANCE, CLEANING & STORAGE WARNING Improper maintenance & storage of the machine may void your warranty. Keep the machine clean for better and safer performance. Turn off the engine before performing any maintenance. If the engine must be run, make sure the area is well ventilated.
  • Page 18 INSTRUCTION MANUAL Check/Add Oil 1. Remove the dipstick and wipe with a clean cloth. 2. Insert the dipstick into the filler neck without screwing it in. 3. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level. The oil level should be in between the MIN. and MAX. levels on the dipstick.
  • Page 19 Air Filter A dirty air filter will block air flow into the carburettor. To prevent carburettor malfunction, service the air filter regularly. Service more frequently when operating the engine in extremely dusty areas. 1. Remove the air filter housing cover (C). Be careful to prevent dirt and debris from falling into the air cleaner assembly.
  • Page 20 INSTRUCTION MANUAL 4. Attach the plug washer, thread the plug in by hand to prevent cross‐threading. 5. When mounting a new spark plug, you should screw 1/2 more thread with the wrench after the washer is compressed. If you are mounting an old one, you should only screw 1/8‐1/4 more thread. CAUTION The spark plug must be securely tightened.
  • Page 21 STORAGE & TRANSPORT The following steps should be taken to prepare your trimmer for storage. 2. Empty the fuel tank. Disconnect the spark plug cap. Drain petrol from the trimmer with a suction pump. Alternatively, tip the trimmer so that it rests on its side. Keep the side with the air filter housing facing up. Drain all fuel from fuel tank into proper receptacle for storage.

Connect spark plug cap to spark plug. Fuel tank empty or stale fuel. Fill tank with clean, fresh petrol. Engine not primed. Prime engine as instructed in the Engine does not start Operation section.
