REVERSING
LEVER
OUTPUT CONTROL
AIR SUPPLY
The efficiency of the tool is dependent on the proper supply of clean dry air at 90 psig (6.2 bar). The use of a line filter, pressure
regulator, and lubricator will insure maximum output and life of tools. Before connecting tool, blow out the air line to remove water
and dirt which may have accumulated.
HOSE AND HOSE CONNECTIONS
Supply hose should be not less than 3/8" (10mm) I.D. Extension hoses should be at least 3/8" (10mm) I.D. Use couplings and fittings
with at least 3/8" (10mm) I.D. When using quick couplers, install a 6 ft (2m) leader hose between tool and quick couplers.
LUBRICATION
Use SIOUX No. 288 air motor oil. An airline lubricator, set to deliver 2 to 4 drops per minute, is recommended. If a lubricator is not
used, add .04 oz. (1.2cc, 12 to 15 drops) of oil into the air inlet twice daily.
Grease hammer mechanism every 40 hours, with up to 1/8 oz. (3 1/2 g) of Cat. No. 289A grease, thru grease fitting on rear of tool.
When regreasing hammer mechanism after servicing, use 1/3 oz. (9 1/2 g) of Cat. No. 289A grease. Make certain all moving parts
are lubricated.
GENERAL OPERATION
Reversing Spindle Rotation
The direction of spindle rotation is controlled with the reversing lever located under the hammer case.
For counterclockwise rotation.
Ensure that the socket is held square to the fastener and that the tool is in-line with the socket.
Output Control
Turn the output control knob on the bottom of the handle full counterclockwise for maximum output. Turn knob clockwise to reduce
output. The knob can be locked in position by tightening the small hex screw in the knob.
Sockets
Use only impact sockets in good shape.
Use deep socket rather than extension bars.
