Contaminated, icy or incorrectly set overload protection will create blockages
which cause incorrect measurements or can cause injury or damage to the
machinery by overloading the scale.

2.2.2 Assembly Elastomer Bearing BB 350 / 500 kg

Assembly procedures: (Numbering see Fig. 2-5)
1. Load cell preparation:

A data sheet is supplied with every load cell with the calibration values for that
load cell. This is found in a supply pocket which is stuck on the packaging. Take
the data sheet and store it in a safe place.

Unpack the load cell.
2. Base plate preparation:

Unpack the base plate.
3. Elastomer bearing preparation:

Unpack the elastomer bearing (12).

Check that the flat seal is properly seated on the elastomer bearing.
4. Oscillation housing preparations:

Unpack the oscillation housing (9).

Remove the retaining ring (8) from the oscillation housing.
5. Assemble the elastomer bearing unit:
NOTE
Please follow the guidelines from chapter 1.5 Load Cell Handling when working
with load cells.
CAUTION
An incorrect or incomplete assembly can result in damaging load cells, mounting
components and the loading platform.
DANGER
A falling loading platform can result in death, severe injury or damage to
equipment depending on exposure.

Insert the oscillation housing (9) into the load cell (3). The arrow on the front of
the load cell indicates the direction of measurement.

Install the retaining ring (8) in the groove in the oscillation housing (9).

Lie the spacer bar (2) on the base plate (1) so that both holes are aligned with the
threaded holes in the base plate (1).

Put the load cell (3) on the spacer bar (2) using 2x Allen screws (5) and 2x
washers (4).

Tighten the 2x Allen screws (5) to 70 Nm torque. Do not use the load cell as
leverage when tightening the bolts as this can cause damage to the load cell.

Smear the round surface of the force transmission for the elastomer bearing (12)
with bearing grease and install it in the oscillation housing (9).
