F. CLEANING FUEL FILTER
IMPORTANT
If dust and dirt enters the fuel system, the fuel
pump and injection nozzles are subject to prema-
ture wear. To prevent this, be sure to clean the
fuel filter bowl and element periodically.
This job should not be done in the field, but in a clean
place.
1. Close the fuel cock.
2. Unscrew the screw ring and remove the filter bowl,
and rinse the inside with kerosene.
3. Take out the element and dip it in kerosene to rinse.
4. After cleaning, reassemble the fuel filter, keeping
out dust and dirt.
5. Bleed the fuel system.
(See "Bleeding Fuel System" in service as required)
