Mounting of the control unit

The system is available in 2 different enclosures:
for DIN-rail mounting (EN50022, BS5584), protection class IP00.
for machine or frame mounting, in plastic enclosure with transparent lid,
protection class IP65.
The system should be mounted in such a way that the indicators and operating keys in the front of
the unit are always well visible. The place should be safely accessible and free from obstruction.
The system must not be exposed to extreme temperature, irradiation or mechanical load.

Mounting of the sensors

Sensors with different sizes are available. The size determines the thickness measuring range and
the magnetic force of attraction. This force is proportional to the thickness of the measured sheet
metal.
When removing the sensor off the sheet or putting it on, the force of attraction must be overcome
by mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic means. The force of attraction can be reduced by creating a
small air gap between sensor and sheet metal (recessed installation, use of a roller block).
Mounting:
The place of mounting depends on the destacking and feeding equipment. In principle a distance of
more than 0.5m must be kept from magnetic/electromagnetic interference sources like e.g. valve
coils, transportation magnets, inductive proximity switches or the like.
The sensor can be mounted in any direction, either over or under the sheet metal.

Caution!
Sensors of the T series contain permanent magnets.
During the handling the risk of squeezing and clamping exists.
The sensors must be kept away from magnet sensitive
media (cheque cards, hard disks, diskettes...) and
systems (cardiac pacemakers, solenoid switches).
Note!
An air gap reduces the measurement capacity.
