Troubleshooting a Test Switch

If the test switch did not execute correctly:
Start with . . .
q Check the power indicator on the front of the enclosure. If it is not illuminated,
check the power switches and the power cords on the enclosure and on the
source and destination devices.
Next try . . .
Control Panel
q Reenter the command to see if the error was simply a timeout error.
q Verify the status of the switch. Press the Status Key, the Video Level Key, and
Input Key 2. If Output Key 2 illuminates, the control panel has established an
internal connection between the input and the output connectors.
BCS
q Check the command and reenter it.*
q Verify the status of the switch by entering SI2T. If SI2T (2) appears, the system
established a connection between the input and the output connectors within the
LT
Precis enclosure.
* Often the command has simply been entered incorrectly (e.g., omitting an output in
a Change command), or the command has specified a value that is not valid (e.g.,
entering an input or output number not available on the system).
