Workstation
The switched-on position must be indicated with a signal lamp for electromagnetic workholding fixtures and with a
corresponding visual marker for permanent magnet workholding fixtures.
2.1

Intended use

The intended use of precision sine tables with electro permanent magnetic chuck/electromagnetic chuck is to hold
workpieces in machine tools.
Depending on the model of the precision sine tables with electro permanent magnetic chuck/electromagnetic
chuck, different type of machine tools are suitable for their use (see section 3 "Technical specifications").
The precision sine tables are fastened with clamps to the face side or on the base magnet of the machine.
The precision sine tables with electro permanent magnetic chuck/electromagnetic chuck may only be operated with
the appropriate control unit.
Also observe the provided operating instructions for the magnetic chuck, polarity reversal control unit and sine
table! Observe the applicable accident prevention regulations when operating the magnetic chucks. Repairs may
only be carried out by the manufacturer.
The technical specifications and ambient conditions must always be observed
(see section 3 "Technical specifications").
Operating conditions
Use must be restricted to the conditions listed below. In other cases, consult SAV GmbH.
If possible, avoids air gaps between workpiece and pole plate, e.g. caused by unevenness, rough surfaces, dirt

and burrs.
Avoid thin workpieces if possible.

Avoid workpieces with a small contact surface.
■
Use workpiece materials with the highest possible ferromagnetic alloy content (e.g. Fe and Co).
■
The adhesion forces are significantly reduced on stainless steel, cast iron or materials with a high nickel content.

NOTE!
The operator's workstation is at the machine operating area. Ensure suffi-
cient stability and fastening.
To meet the safety requirements for machinery, start-up of the machine in
setup mode has to be prevented by means of appropriate safety measures
(enable relay, see operating instructions for the control unit).
