7. Faults

Should any faults occur which are not listed below, immediately deenergize the lifting platform, shut it down,
secure against unauthorised use and inform Beissbarth customer service or an authorised service agent.

All repair work is to be performed by Beissbarth customer service or an authorised service agent. Exclusive use
is to be made of genuine Beissbarth spare parts. The use of parts from other manufacturers renders the type
approval invalid.
7.1 Faults during runway operation
Fault
No motor operation.
Motor operation but runway not
raised.
Runway raised too slowly.
Runway lowered too slowly or not
at all.
Runway not fully lowered.
Noise during lifting or lowering.
Runway bounce.
7.2 Permissible hydraulic fluids

Exclusive use is to be made of hydraulic fluids as per
DIN 51524 for the hydraulic system:

Mineral fluid ISO 32 for normal ambient
temperatures (Europe)
$
Mineral fluid ISO 46 for high ambient
temperatures

Organic hydraulic fluid is also permissible provided
that this is HEES fluid based on synthetic ester.

Possible cause
R Power failure.
R Motor overheating, thermos-
witch in motor has cut out.
R Cable break switch activated.
R Control fuse defective.
R Printed circuit board defective.
R Vehicle too heavy.
R Upper end position reached.
R Lack of fluid.
R Emergency lowering screw at low-
ering valve open. See Fig. 13.
R Electric motor running in
wrong direction.
R Hydraulic system defective.
R Vehicle too heavy.
R Intake filter clogged.
R Hydraulic system defective.
R No vehicle on lifting platform.
R Runway locked.
R Slack cable switch activated.
R Hydraulic system defective.
R Foot protection safety lev-
el (120 mm) reached.
R Wrong hydraulic fluid with
poor lubrication action.
R Inadequate lubrication of cross
member guide surfaces.
R Air in hydraulic system.
Remedy
R Check the power supply.
R Wait 10 minutes and try again.
R Call in customer service.
R Call in customer service.
R Call in customer service.
R Check whether the permissible runway load-
bearing capacity has been exceeded.
R Check position.
R Check fluid level.
R Close emergency lowering screw.
R Interchange two phases at electric motor.
R Call in customer service.
R Check whether the permissible lifting plat-
form loadbearing capacity has been exceeded.
R Clean intake filter (maintenance personnel).
R Call in customer service.
R Normal behaviour, no malfunction.
R Release runway by raising briefly.
R Check the detent pins.
R Call in customer service.
R Keep "Lowering in hazard zone" but-
ton pressed and lower completely.
R Check type of fluid (see Sec. 7.2).
R Lubricate guide surfaces.
R Call in customer service.
R Bleed hydraulic system.
ATTENTION – Seals may be destroyed by the
use of unsuitable hydraulic fluid

Never use rape seed oil-based fluids.
¶
The water content of the hydraulic fluid
must not be more than 2 %.
¶
Never mix organic and mineral fluids. Mixing
causes foaming problems and corrosion
damage.
¶
Take care to avoid contamination with other
fluids or water.
