Periodic maintenance

Periodic maintenance is carried out on mechanisms which are under great stress
and which are more protected from external factors, requiring less frequent maintenance.
GEARBOX:
• The gearbox must be inspected before the spreader starts to operate. If the oil level
is low, fill it up.
• After the first 200 hours of operation, it is recommended to change the oil. This is
necessary because by this time the gearbox will get softened.
• Afterwards, the change can be made every 1000 hours. Verify the oil level in a flat
place by loosening and removing the level plug until the presence of oil is noticed.
• In order to carry out the whole change, drain all the oil by removing the drain plug
which is located in the lower part of the gearbox. Then, remove the breather plug and the
level plug.
• Then, insert the drain plug
and replenish it through the breather
plug until the oil leaks by the level
plug.
Breather
Use SAE 90 oil only.
NOTE
When filling up with oil, complete the gearbox with the same type of oil.
If it is not possible, remove the remainder oil and replenish the gearbox
completely.
Gearbox oil level = 2 liters.
The oil used must not contain detergent.
