Installing Memory

Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM modules to prevent any
possible damage.

Memory support

The StorTrends 1100 motherboard supports 4 GB of dual-channel, ECC or non-ECC
unbuffered DDR-400/333/266 SDRAM. You must populate both DIMM0A and
DIMM1A and/or DIMM0B and DIMM1B with the same size and type of memory
modules. This will result in dual channel (two-way interleaved) operation, which is faster
than single channel operation.

Installing memory modules

Insert each memory module vertically. Pay attention to the notch along the bottom of the
module to prevent inserting it incorrectly. Gently press down on the DIMM module until
it snaps into place in the slot (see Figure 5-5).
