Installing the Antenna

The SU-M-900 Antenna consists of the following components:
An antenna base & whip combination
3/4 " Hole Mount kit
.067" gasket
N-Type plug to SMA jack cable.
To install the antenna on the roof or body of a car when
access to bottom side of mounting plate is not available:
1.
Position the antenna as far from the emergency lights as possible while
still on a relatively flat surface. The maximum plate thickness in the
chosen location should not exceed 0.062". Connect the cable (SMA
jack) to SMA plug on antenna mount. Tighten securely.
2.
Punch/drill a 0.75" (19 mm) diameter hole in the selected area. Clear
all paint, dirt and oil away from the immediate area around the hole. It
is important that there be a clean metal-to-metal contact point between
the antenna mount and the car.
3.
Feed cable through hole from topside and fish out where access is
available on bottom side.
4.
Assemble mount through hole from top side by angling cable side of
flange through the hole, sliding mount as far to edge of hole as
possible, dropping the opposite end of the flange through the hole and
centering the mount base in the hole.
5.
Assemble the O-ring into groove on brass nut (1 1/8 – 18 M-mount
interface nut).
6.
Assemble brass nut onto mount body. Tighten brass nut until O-ring is
compressed and brass nut is in contact with mounting plate. Hold
mount body from spinning using spanner wrench applied to two holes
on top of mount body.
7.
Route cable to desired location.
8.
Assemble antenna gasket over brass nut of mount.
9.
Assemble antenna to mount tightening by hand until snug and gasket
is slightly compressed.
