2.5.3 USB interface

Display units with buttons are equipped with a USB 2.0 interface on the front. This is equipped with a protective
cover.
Caution!
IP65 protection is only possible if this USB protective cover is fitted correctly.
Caution!
Because this interface is designed according to general PC specifications, extreme care should be
exercised with regard to EMC, cable routing, etc.
The front USB interface is available to the user for service purposes.
Information:
With display units ≥ Rev. A2, the front USB interface on the system unit occupies the USB1 interface.
If the USB cable is unplugged, the front USB interface is disabled as well.

the particular operating system.
2) Each USB interface is protected by a maintenance-free "USB current-limiting circuit breaker" (max. 500 mA).
3) With the revision < A0 for 5PPC2100.BY01-001 and 5PPC2100.BY11-001 system units, the max. cable length has been specified at 2 m.
4) With revisions < A1 for 5PPC2100.BY22-001 and 5PPC2100.BY34-001 system units, the max. cable length has been specified at 2 m.
5) With revisions < A2 for 5PPC2100.BY44-001 system units, the max. cable length has been specified at 2 m.
