Measuring tolerances for resistance thermometers

Tolerance classes
The tolerance classes of the resistance thermometers are defined as follows in accordance with
IEC 60751:
Tolerance class
Class B
Class A
Class AA (1/3 B)
Tolerances
The following tables provide an overview of the validity ranges of these tolerances. When you
use a thermometer above the specified limits, the values of the next lower accuracy class apply.
Action
Basic version
With increased vibra‐
tion resistance
With extended measur‐
ing range
If an RTD will be subjected in a higher temperature as specified in the class, the sensor will be
declassified to the referring accuracy class. For enduring operation near 400 °C we recommend
the use of an extended measuring range RTD, instead of basic and increased vibration versions.
