• TTL Level Adjustment
CAUTION
PURPOSE
To adjust the flash meter sensor's level. Before performing this adjustment, the
TTL Gain Adjustment (usually not necessary) must be completed first.
STANDARDS
Average +/-1EV
PREPARATIONS
1) Mount the camera on a tripod and attach an EF 50mm f/1.8 lens and Speedlite.
2) Set the camera to the manual mode and set Tv to 1/250 sec. and Av to f/5.6.
3) Set the measuring instrument and camera to ISO 100.
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
1) On the Flash Metering Adjustment
Menu, select [F2] TTL Level
Adjustment. First, adjust the left sen-
sor's flash metering level. Measure the
image plane light level and move the
cursor to select the correction
amount. Then press Return.
• When you press ESC, the standard
value (default) will be written. Do this
if the adjustment does not go well.
2) Check the right sensor's flash meter-
ing level adjustment. Measure the film
plane illumination. If it is OK, press
Return.
• The "Adjustment Range" is the cur-
rent reference for the adjustment. If
the level is well outside of this adjust-
ment range, the set-up or TTL sensor
is probably faulty.
3) In the same way as with the left sen-
sor, adjust the flash metering level for
the right, center, and peripheral sen-
sors. When the sensor is selected, the
adjustment software will perform the
adjustment automatically.
• When TTL Level Adjustment is selected, the camera will be automatically
set to the manual mode, Tv = 1/250 sec., Av = f/5.6, and AI Servo. The
focusing point will be selected in correspondence to the sensor (right, left,
center, peripheral) to be adjusted.
• During the measurement, do not change the focusing point. Doing so will
result in an inaccurate measurement.

Turn Speedlite main switch on and adjust TTL Level.
Set standard reflector 2m from camera, and fire flash.
Check the flash level and select compensation with cursol key.
To make compensation, press RETURN.
Press RETURN to make correction.
To return to Flash adjestment menu, press SPACE bar.
{To write standerd value(default value), press ESC key}

Always turn the Speedlite main switch off once
and then back on.
Check the flash film plane illumination.
(If not, the shutter will not release.)
Current value is 000.
Adjustment range is -128 to 127.
If OK, press RETURN.
If NG, press SPACE bar and make readjustment.
