Grinding

The grinder is equipped with a fine and a coarse grinding wheel.
1. Use the green ON/OFF switch (12) to power-up the machine. Both grinding
wheels are driven simultaneously by the motor. When using the machine
for the first time, operate it for 5 minutes under no load.
2. Always rest the work piece on the work piece support during work. Without
using the support you might loose control of the work piece and it may even
be thrown from your hand.
3. Do not hold the work piece in a sharp angle against the rotating direction of
the wheel against the wheel. This may result in a kickback.
4. After work, use the red switch to turn off the machine. The grinding wheels
will rotate for some time after the engine has been turned off. Never try to
stop the wheels by hand.
Notes:
The work piece may become very hot during grinding. This may lead to a
change in the material properties of the work piece. Therefore, allow the
work piece to cool down during machining.
Do not operate the bench grinder longer than 30 minutes. Then allow it to
cool down sufficiently.
If necessary, use the dust exhaust openings at the rear of both protection
hoods (16) to connect a vacuum cleaner resp. a dust collection device.

Trueing the Grinding Wheels

After extended use, the performance of the wheels may deteriorate or the
grinding surfaces may become untrue.
Use an appropriate conditioner to true the grinding wheels.
1. Turn on the bench grinder and hold the
conditioner, as pictured, against the
grinding wheel.
2. Check in short intervals whether the
surface already is satisfactory or the
process has to be continued.
