2) Adjusting the height of the presser foot
Check the relationship between the presser foot, the
needle, and the embroidery material. Turn the main shaft
driver pulley and position the needle bar at the lowest
point (180° ). Uncover the head as shown in [Fig.10-8]
and unscrew the presser foot so the distance between the
presser foot and the needle plate is adequate for your work
purpose ( "K" ). Adjust the distance for each presser foot.
[Standard distance K ]
Cap-type: 1.5mm
Flat-type: 1mm (Tubular)

10-5) RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRESSER FOOT AND NEEDLE

1) Relationship between Presser Foot and Needle/
Embroidery Material
For stable stitching, the presser foot must be pressing the
embroidery material before the needle pierces into the
material. The same is true for when the needle comes out
of the material.
2) When the Presser Foot is Too High
① Needle In
The picture below shows the presser foot fails to press the work material when the needle pierces into the
fabric, causing an unstable needlework.
② Needle Out
The picture below shows the presser foot fails to press the work material when the needle comes out of the
fabric. The embroidery material is lifted up along with the needle, making a gap between the fabric and the
needle plate. This may cause thread breaks, skipped stitches, or unstable stitching.
