2.1

Area of application

The expansion module has been designed for use in combination with the 7KM PAC devices.
The guidelines for the 7KM PAC devices also apply to the expansion module.
When used in conjunction with 7KN POWERCENTER, powermanager and Cloud MindSphere,
expansion module I(N), I(Diff), analog makes it possible to monitor measured quantities, such
as
• Real neutral current
• Residual current and
• Analog measured values, e.g. temperature.
Although these measured quantities are generally not monitored during normal operation,
they can provide important information in the event of deviations or changes in a system if
they are evaluated appropriately.
Temporary changes can be converted into event messages by the limit monitoring system.
Persistent changes can be recorded in the form of a trend based on the aggregated values
and stored.
It is possible to record and forward event messages very easily using 7KN POWERCENTER,
powermanager and MindSphere, e.g. in the form of an email or long-term storage of trend
data.
2.2

Performance features of the I(N), I(Diff), analog module

Overview:
• Plug-in expansion module for SENTRON PAC measuring devices with expansion module
functionality, e.g. 7KM PAC3200 / PAC3220 / PAC4200
• Measurement of N-conductor (neutral) current via external current transformer. Direct
measurement via external current transformers is significantly more accurate than
calculated current values.
• Measurement of two residual and PE currents via external summation current transformer
• Measurement of physical quantities of any kind, such as
– Temperature
– Humidity
– Pressure
– Flow measurement is possible using an external 0/4 ... 20 mA transmitter.
• Display of measured values directly on the display of the PAC measuring device
When used in conjunction with the 7KM PAC3220 or 7KM PAC4200 measuring device,
