Protective insert into the
luggage compartment
The protective insert into the luggage compartment (hereafter
simply referred to as "insert") is intended for vehicles with solid
floors.
The insert is available as follows depending on the vehicle type:
ŠKODA Rapid (NH3) Order no. 5JH 061 162
ŠKODA Fabia (NJ3) Order no. 6V6 061 162
ŠKODA Fabia Combi (NJ5) Order no. 6V9 061 162
Note. The figures in the instructions provide general
fitting information.
The instructions provide pictures showing how to fit
and remove the insert in ŠKODA Rapid (NH3) vehicles.
The insert is fitted in and removed from the other
vehicle types mentioned in the instructions in exactly
the same way. The inserts differ only in their design
details; the installation position in the luggage com-
partment is the same.
Fit the insert into the luggage compartment and remove it from
the luggage compartment as shown in the figures. Fit the insert
(slightly bent) into the luggage compartment and remove it from
the luggage compartment at an angle.
Usage and maintenance notes
The insert protects the luggage-compartment floor covering
from being damaged and from coarse dirt (e.g. when transporting
building materials), so the edges of the insert follow the shape of
the luggage compartment. Mechanical wear on the insert (caused
by repeatedly fitting and removing the insert, as well as regular
usage) do not influence the above-mentioned function in any way
and does not constitute a fault. Therefore, damage caused by
usual insert wear (including bending and scoring, among others) is
excluded from the warranty.
Note. Only for Rapid vehicles (5JH 061 162):
When folding the rear seat back up and down, the
lower backrest collides with the insert. The edge of
the insert may be damaged as a result. Therefore,
either partially remove the insert from the luggage
compartment before moving the rear seat (when no
objects are being transported) or remove it completely.
Note. You must ensure that transported objects
cannot slide at any time (see the Owner's Manual in
the vehicle).
When securing the carabiners for the luggage-com-
partment nets (or for the securing belts) to the lashing
eyes, avoid causing abrasion damage to the edge of
the insert.
If the luggage-compartment floor covering should be
lifted, first remove any objects that are being trans-
ported on the insert, then remove the insert and only
then lift the floor covering.
Clean the insert with standard protective plastic
cleaning agents. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents
or solvents under any circumstance.
