To replace a dam aged print head, follow t he procedure below.
Print heads are fragile; use ext rem e car e when handling and never use a sharp obj ect on t he
surface. I f you have quest ions, cont act a qualified t echnician or Dat am ax- O'Neil Technical
Support before proceeding.
1.
Touch a bar e m et al part of t he print er's fram e t o discharge any st at ic elect ricit y t hat m ay be
present on y our body.
2.
Turn 'Off' and unplug t he print er. Open t he cover; if ribbon is inst alled, rem ove it .
3.
Wit h t he print head locked in t he down posit ion, loosen t he Print head Mount ing Screw ( it will
rem ain in t he assem bly) .
4.
Unlat ch t he Print head Assem bly. While holding t he Print head, raise t he assem bly. Disconnect
t he t wo cables and t hen rem ove t he old Print head.
5.
While carefully holding t he new Print head, connect bot h cables.
6.
Posit ion t he Print head ont o t he Locat ing Pins in t he Print head Assem bly and secure in place
wit h t he Print head Mount ing Screw ( do not over- t ight en) .
7.
Clean t he Print head ( see Sect ion 5.2) .
8.
Reload ribbon ( if rem oved) , lower t he print head assem bly, and rot at e t he print head lat ch
back, int o t he locked posit ion.
