Qu ick Ca libr a t ion
Quick Calibrat ion should be perform ed as part of t he m edia loading rout ine t o fine- t une t he
sensing param et ers.
( 1) This calibrat ion is not necessary when using cont inuous st ock.
( 2) Media cont aining large gaps m ay require a change in t he PAPER EMPTY DI STANCE before
proceeding.
Calibrat e t he print er as follows:
1. Ensure t hat t he print er is ON and in an idle st at e ( i.e., not off- line) wit h m edia loaded, t he
m edia sensor adj ust ed, and t he sensor t ype select ed.
2. Press and hold t he FEED Key unt il at least one full label has been out put t hen release t he key
and wait for t he print er t o process t he dat a. There are t wo possible out com es:
CALI BRATI ON COMPLETE - will be displayed, and t he m edia will be advanced t o t he next t op
of form if calibrat ion was successful; or,
CALI BRATI ON FAI LED will be displayed if calibrat ion was not successful. I n t his case, check
t he hint s list ed below t o help resolve t he problem :

WARNI NG LOW BACKI NG is a norm al m essage when calibrat ing die- cut m edia m ount ed on a
highly t ranslucent liner or not ched t ag st ocks.
I f t he init ial at t em pt fails, press and hold t he FEED Key unt il t wo successive label TOFs have
been out put . I f, however, CALI BRATI ON FAI LED is displayed again, perform t he St andard
Calibrat ion rout ine, see Sect ion 3.4.3.
