SPECIAL THERAPY FOR CHILDREN: (See pict.32 for any reference and position)
1. Find the proper flow the child needs, as before described.
2. To do this turn the handle "FLOW" (POS.A) clock-wise and let the patient inspire at
list for one minute.
3. Usually the flow needed by a child is around 4-5 Lt/min., see O
the flow-meter box and then the balloon (POS.B) that is to be half-full / half-empty.
4. Administer nitrogen protoxide (N
initially the indicator on the 20% and after few minutes watch the patient reactions.
5. If the patient has not sufficiently sedated improve the percentage for ex. 30% and so
on.
SPECIAL THERAPY FOR ADULTS: (See pict.32 for any reference and position)
1. Find the proper flow the adult patient needs, as before described.
2. To do this turn the handle "FLOW" (POS.A) clock-wise and let the patient inspire at
list for one minute.
3. Usually the flow for adult patients is around 6-7 Lt/min., see O
the flow-meter box and then the balloon (POS.B) that is to be half-full / half-empty.
4. Administer nitrogen protoxide (N
positioning first the indicator on the 20% and after few minutes watch the patient
reactions.
5. If the patient is not sufficiently sedated increase the percentage for ex. 30% and so
on.
END OF THERAPY: (See pict. 32 for reference and position)
1. At the end of the operation stop supplying Protoxide ( ) by turning the
handle "%" counter clock-wise up to its limit.
2. ADMINISTER, AS IN THE BEGINNING, OXYGEN (
Lt/min., FOR 2 MINUTES SETTING THE LITRES BY MEANS OF THE
HANDLE "FLOW" (SEE point. 6).
3. Stop supplying gas by turning the handle "FLOW" counter clock-wise up to its limit.
4. Remove the mask from the patient.
5. Close the tap of the protoxide (N
