Hardware Installation—Installing the IFC-1010/2020
Note
The MPS-24A/E is UL Listed as a Special Application power supply.
The MPS-24A/E is UL Listed as a Special Application power supply.
Therefore, only notification appliances that are compatibility listed in the
Device Compatibility Technical Bulletin (LIT-445180) may be used with the
system if powered by the MPS-24A/E.
Because of the close proximity of the alarm and trouble contacts to
CPU-based system control functions, only circuits that are unlikely to produce
any electrical noise should be connected to the contacts. If a noise generating
device is connected to these contacts, system operation problems might be
encountered.
For a Style 6 or 7 loop the maximum amount of cable used for the SLC loop
cannot exceed the lengths specified above for Style 4 SLC configurations.
See Figure 50. Note that M500MJ Isolation Modules must be removed from
the SLC or by passed when taking resistance readings because the modules
open the SLC circuit when the SLC power is removed.
The EDP Listing was the old designation under the UL 478 standard. The new
Listing standard is UL 1950, Safety of Information Technology Equipment.
When the SLC is totally installed in conduit and when it is installed in a partial
conduit system (no more than 20 feet of conduit from the CAB-3 enclosure to
the point where the SLC is no longer installed in conduit), then the SLC shield
should be terminated.
