4.3 Checking the Network Transmission

This chapter describes how to check the network transmission of the ePico3801 to ensure that
the ePico3801 communicates with other NEs properly.
Prerequisite
The ePico3801 hardware is checked and in normal status.
Procedure
Step 1 Check the RUN/ALM LED.
If the RUN/ALM LED Is...
Blinking green (ON for 1s and OFF for 1s)
Other status
Issue 01 (2009–09–23)
State Description
ON (red) There is no GPS signal.
Blinking red The signals of the ePico3801
(ON for 1s and are under slight interference.
OFF for 1s) The ePico3801 works
properly, but the
telecommunication quality
deteriorates.
Blinking red The signals of the ePico3801
(ON for 0.125s are under strong
and OFF for interference. The ePico3801
0.125s) cannot work properly.
OFF (green) The Ethernet port is
connected improperly.

Handling Method
Check the GPS antenna
l
connector. If the
connector is loose,
reinsert the connector and
fasten it.
Change the position for
l
installing the GPS
antenna.
Eliminate the interference
l
source around the
equipment.
Change the position for
l
installing the ePico3801.
Check whether the Ethernet
ports on the ePico3801 and
the peer equipment are faulty
and whether the Ethernet
cable is available.
Then...
The network transmission is normal. End the
check.
Go to Step 2.
