MEDIA ACCESS
Load compatible programs from a connected USB stick using this option. Access
virtual disks, tapes, cartridges and standalone programs and then choose to insert or
auto-load them into the current computer.
See CHAPTER 8 for further details about the Media access option and saved states.
OPTIONS
There are a number of options to choose from here, which configure a range of
different functions on THEC64. See CHAPTER 7 for further details on all of the
options and settings on THEC64.
SAVED STATE LOCATION
If you are running a program loaded from a USB stick (see Media access), then the
state saves to the USB stick, otherwise it saves directly to THEC64. The state always
saves to THEC64 if no suitably formatted USB stick is connected at the time the save is
started.
The very first time THEC64 saves on a USB stick, it creates a special folder on the USB
stick named .THEC64SAVE. Inside that folder, THEC64 creates another folder, named
after the virtual media file that contains the program currently running. For example,
/.THEC64SAVE/mydisk_M6 contains any saved state files for programs loaded from
the virtual disk file mydisk_M6.d64.
Please note that you cannot browse to the .THEC64SAVE folder on THEC64, and some
desktop computer systems hide this folder from view if you were to connect the USB
stick to another computer and browse from there.
See CHAPTER 8 for further information about loading programs from a USB stick,
and for additional details relating to saved state files.
