HVI
power Conductors may only be installed in Ex zones 1/21 under the conditions shown and
®
Â
referred to in these installation instructions.
Only qualified and trained personnel (lightning protection specialists) is allowed to install
Â
HVI
power Conductors. We recommend to visit a special training course on HVI

by DEHN + SÖHNE.
These installation instructions on the special use of the HVI

screws, the conductor holders are fitted with adhesive-coated screws. These M6 screws must be
tightened using a tightening torque of 5 Nm. Typically, black HVI
holder unit can be rotated by 90° by loosening the centre screw (M8) and must be tightened again
using a tightening torque of 10 Nm.
The isolated air-termination system including the air-termination tip and sealing end of the

HVI
power Conductor can be positioned in Ex zone 2/22.

No deposits must be present in the space between the HVI

surface (roof or wall). This can be achieved by cleaning the installation surface or sufficiently eleva-
ting the HVI
power Conductor.

The HVI
power Conductor features a conductive plastic sheath. If it is likely that special gases or

substances attack (destroy) the sheath material, the HVI
Within Ex zones, consequent equipotential bonding must be provided. External conductive systems,
Â
e.g. electrical cables, pipe systems, cable racks, etc. must be connected with the semi-conductive
sheath of the HVI
Alternatively, separation distance s according to DIN EN 62305-3 (VDE 0185-305-3), Lightning Pro-
tection Part 3, Section 6.3, has to be kept.
If the required separation distance from these external conductive systems cannot be kept,
Â
HVI
power Conductor has to be connected to the equipotential bonding in distances according to
®
intallation variants.
Modification of the components is not permitted. Prior to installation, it must be ensured that no

potentially explosive atmosphere is present at the work location!
