Application The BGS-250 can be used on almost any floor to plane, to make ready for coatings, or to remove coatings or glue residues. This machine may not be used on wood.
Asbestos version BGS-250A The BGS-250A can be used to remove material which can be potentially dangerous for health, for example asbestos. The BGS-250A has an additional safety feature: the under pressure meter (differential pressure switch) which monitors the suction power of the dust collector. If the connected dust collector does not have enough suction power or it is turned off, the machine will turn off automatically.
Speed Control version BGS-250SC The BGS-250 SC has two extra options: -Regulate the grinding speed -Change the turning direction of the motor. Speed Control version (SC) Standard version Stop button (Red) Start button (Green) Speed regulator Selection switch for left-hand or right-hand turning of the motor.
3. Safety Warning! Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, explosions and / or serious injuries. Only authorized and trained personnel may operate this machine. This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge.
Do not open or remove protective guards while driving gears are running. g) The machine, specially the handle grips must be dry and free of fats/oils. h) All repair work has to be done by qualified Blastrac personnel, this guarantees a safe and reliable machine.
Dustcollector safety a) Always use a Blastrac dust collector to ensure a dust-free operation of the machine and clean air at the workspace. Also the airflow helps to cool the machine and prevents overheating. b) When working on or around carcinogenic or pathogenic substances, the dust collector must be fitted with a HEPA filter.
Be aware of your surroundings and machine operating level. Do not side hill, do not run on steep incline, this could cause machine to tip over. b) The net weight of the BGS-250 is 58 - 66 kg. Use a crane or lift when transporting the machine, use the lifting eye of the machine.

q) Only lift the machine up by the points 1 and 2 as shown in the picture below. Use the banning tool to loosen the nuts to fold in the steering handle.
3.10 Signs on the machine The following stickers are placed on the machine. Meanings of these symbols are: Wear a dust mask class FFP2 or ! Danger Hazardous voltage in motor higher. even when solid state controller is OFF. Disconnect main power before servicing motor, controller or associated wiring.
4. Initial operation Before using the machine it is essential to inspect the machine. It is not permitted to use the machine if the machine safety is not according the checkpoints below. Before switching on the machine make sure that no-one can be endangered when the machine starts up! Checkpoints power supply Use only extension cables for extending the main cable that are sized and marked in accordance with ...
Changing the diamond disc Read chapter 3 “Safety” before changing the disk. Warning! Always wear Personal Protective Equipment! The dust can be hazardous to the health! Wear a dustmask! The disk can get hot! Don’t risk burning your hands! Wear protective gloves! ...
5. Operating During operating the machine, the following additional safety instructions must be followed closely. Before switching on the machine make sure that no-one can be endangered when the machine starts up. Make sure that no vehicles, such as forklift trucks and other equipment run over the electric cable and the dust hose.
Asbestos version The BGS-250A (asbestos version) can be used to remove carcinogenic or pathogenic substances which are dangerous for health, for example asbestos. To ensure the safety of the operator, the BGS-250A has an extra safety mechanism. The differential pressure switch which monitors the suction power of the dust collector.
For soft floors it is recommended to work on high disc speed, for hard floors and the first steps of polishing it is recommended to grind with low speed of the tools. Contact our experts at Blastrac for the correct application of the different tools and their corresponding working speeds.
Pay attention to unusual noises or strong vibrations. Check for the cause of every big change. Call a technician if you have doubts about the cause or when a repair without a technician seems not possible without damages. Only use genuine Blastrac spare parts. Generally the grinding machine requires very little special attention regarding its maintenance.
Store the cleaned and dry machine in a dry and humid free room. Protect the electrical motors from moisture, heat, dust and shocks. All repair work must to be done by qualified Blastrac personnel, this to guarantee a safe and reliable machine. Any guarantee on the machine is expired when: Non original Blastrac parts have been used ...
Other maintenance Check the seals for wear, and replace them at the time when they no longer provide a good seal against dust emissions from the machine, by this action damage to the surrounding workspace is avoided, and consequently saves additional charges from the job client. Differential pressure switch ...
Caution! Work on the frequency inverter(23) by unqualified personnel or failure to comply with warnings can result in severe personal injury or serious damage to material. Only qualified Blastrac personnel trained in the setup, installation, commissioning, operation and repair of the product should carry out work on the frequency inverter(23).

Voltage too low 1.Power voltage too low Improve power quality during operation 2.Power voltage varies widely (fluctuates) For all other failure codes: write down the failure code and serial number of the grinding machine. Stop the machine and contact Blastrac.
7. Troubleshooting Fault Possible cause Remedy Excessive vibration Imbalance due to worn or broken grinding Replace all worn or broken parts. tools. And / or unusual noises Check the bearing on the axle drive shaft Defective bearing. and replace if necessary. Debris deposit on the coupling.
This may significantly decrease the exposure level over the total working period. Despite the fact that this guide is made with care, Blastrac takes no liability for errors in the manual and the possible consequences. We are naturally very interested in your findings and additions.
