You can also read syslogs if you type the command 'logread' in the telnet user shell.

6.2 BOOTER

The booter may be handled automatically via the DHCP Option 254 'UPDATE' (see the
corresponding chapter). In any case, you may have a direct command for the booter software, if
you use a telnet user session.

6.2.1 CHECKING THE RFP BOOTER VERSION

You can display RFP booter version information using the telnet interface of an RFP. Check the
booter version to determine whether an update is required to overcome any user problem or to
enhance the function.
Start a telnet session using the IP address of the RFP.
Enter the login 'iprfp' and the password 'omm12'.
Enter 'flash'.
The display will show the RFP software and the hardware level.

6.2.2 UPDATING THE RFP BOOTER MANUALLY

You can update the RFP booter manually if automatic update is not possible. Check the booter
version to determine whether an update is required to overcome any user problem or to enhance
the function.
Start a telnet session using the IP address of the RFP.
Enter the login 'iprfp' and the password 'omm12'.
Enter 'flash_update'.
Enter 'flash_update' a second time because of the two booter images.
