4.7 OMM DECT MONITOR TOOL

4.7.1 DESCRIPTION

DECT monitor can be used to improve error detection in the IP DECT system. DECT Monitor is
an MS Windows-based standalone application. It gives a real-time overview of the current RFP
and PP states in the IP DECT system.
DECT Monitor offers the following features:
Acquisition of the DECT configuration of an OpenMobility system
The configuration may be saved in an ASCII file.
The possibility to display DECT-RFP-PP transactions in clear tabular form, with
highlighting of handover situations Real-time display
Displaying other status events or the RFP or PP activities of an IP DECT system
All the events can also be saved in a log file.
Displaying the synchronisation relations between the RFPs.
Checking systems containing up to 255 RFPs and 1023 handsets
Acquiring and displaying statistical data on the RFPs, both for a single RFP and for all
the RFPs
Displaying the main DECT-related data for the IP DECT system.
DECT Monitor can only be used if the DECT Monitor icon of the DECT web service on the
parameter configuration page is activated.
DECT monitor is used with the IP DECT system.
When an application starts, the user is prompted to enter the IP address of the RFP or server
containing the OpenMobility Manager (OMM) software.
This address is different from the IP address of the PBX to which the OMM is connected!
There can be several reasons for a connection failure:
DECT Monitor operation is not enabled in OMM. Use the web service to enable DECT
Monitor operation.
The IP address not correct. It is most probably the address of the RFP or server on
which OMM is running, and not the PBX address!
A link routed through the PABX is not supported. For a remote service on a PABX via
dial-in, the OMM cannot be accessed from DECT Monitor.
The application displays the IP address used previously. When the application is started, a link
to the OpenMobility system is automatically established and the application window shows all the
child windows and tables configured by the user.
When all links have been established, the DECT data of the system is automatically retrieved and
entered in the tables 'RFP-Table' and 'PP-Table' This procedure is called 'Config Request'.
