Charge the starter battery every 6 months,
even if it has been disconnected or in

The charge level of the starter battery must be
checked every four weeks if no measures are
taken to maintain the battery charge.

Standby mode
Activating/deactivating standby mode
Requirements:
The engine is switched off.
R
When you activate standby mode, the energy loss
is minimized if the vehicle is parked for an exten‐
ded period.
Standby mode has the following characteristics:
The starter battery is protected.
R
The maximum non-operational time is shown
R
in the media display.
The connection to online services is interrup‐
R
ted.
The ATA (anti-theft alarm system) is not avail‐
R
able.
The interior motion sensor and tow-away
R
alarm functions are not available.
If the following conditions are met, standby mode
can be activated or deactivated using the multi‐
media system:
The engine is switched off.
R
The ignition is switched on.
R
If the displayed non-operational time of the vehi‐
cle is exceeded, there could be a loss of comfort
and the starter battery can no longer be guaran‐
teed to reliably start the engine.

The starter battery must first be charged in the
