MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning or performing any maintenance, make sure the mitre saw has been
disconnected from the power supply. Keep all ventilation openings clean. Avoid using
solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from
various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use a clean
cloth to remove dirt, oil and grease.
Replacement of carbon brushes
The carbon brushes furnished will last
approximately 50 hours of running time, or
10,000
ON/OFF
cycles.

spring or wire is damaged or burned.
To inspect or replace brushes, first unplug
the saw, then remove the black plastic cap
(see Fig.10 ) on the side of the motor.
Carefully remove the cap, as the cap is spring-loaded. Remove the brush and
replace. Replace the brush on the other side in the same manner. To reassemble,
reverse the procedure. The ears on the metal end of the assembly go in the same
hole the carbon part fits into. Tighten the cap snugly, but do not over tighten.
NOTE: To reinstall the same brushes, ensure the brushes are placed in the same
way they came out to avoid a break-in period.
WARNING: Do not let improper materials such as brake fluids, gasoline,
petroleum-based products, penetrating oil, etc., to come in contact with plastic parts
as improper materials contain chemicals that can damage, weaken or destroy plastic.
WARNING: To ensure safety and reliability, all repairs should be performed by
a qualified service technician.
