Cleaning the hob

Cleaning the hob
CAUTION!
Risk of burns!
Improper handling may lead to burns.
Prior to cleaning, switch off the hob
and allow to cool completely. Excep-
tion: You want to remove sugary or
starchy food waste, plastics or alu-
minium foil (see next page).
Proceed with caution since the cook-
ing zones/areas may still be warm
even after the residual heat indicator
" H " has disappeared (e.g. after a pow-
er failure).
NOTICE
Risk of damage to property!
Improper use of the hob can cause
damage.
Do not use steam or high-pressure
cleaners to clean the hob. Steam
could get through cracks into live
electrical components of the hob and
cause short circuiting.
Do not use any harsh abrasive deter-
gents, scouring agents, abrasive pow-
der or steel sponges; they can dam-
age the surface.
Clean and maintain the hob regu-
larly with a special care product con-
taining a special impregnating oil for
hobs. Such products can be found in
specialist shops.
Slight soiling which is not burnt on
• Switch the hob off.
• After it has cooled down, wipe light dirt
with a damp cloth.
• If necessary, use a suitable cleaner and
wipe with clean water.
• Then dry the surface with a soft cloth to
prevent lime stains.
• You can remove light stains with a
pearlescent colour (aluminium residues,
e.g. from aluminium foil) using a commer-
cially available detergent that is specifical-
ly available for such cleaning.
• Vinegar is good for removing lime stains.
Hard, baked-on dirt
• Tough stains can be most easily removed
after cooling using a blade scraper. Spe-
cially designed cleaning products can
also be found in specialist shops.
• Finally, wipe the surface with a damp
cloth.
• Treat the hob with a special care product
after cleaning.
