About this meter
The MULTI 2000 meets all the demands that
agricultural professionals can put on state-
of-the-art measuring equipment. The MULTI
2000 measures the pH, conductivity (up to
200 mS), activity or the temperature, depen-
ding on the connected probe.
The MODE button is used to toggle between
the different measurement probes. The CAL
button is used to calibrate the pH and EC
value. This meter does not need to be cali-
brated for activity measurements.
The MULTI 2000 is a professional-quality mul-
ti-functional meter. In order to achieve the
optimal measurement accuracy, this meter
should be calibrated regularly.
When measuring in the lower EC measure-
ment range, the lower range is also calibra-
ted. Similarly, high-calibration solutions are
used when taking preferred measurements
in the upper measurement range (one-point
calibration).
The pH glass insertion electrode is calibra-
ted with buffers of pH 4 and pH 7 (two-point
calibration).
The meter features temperature compensa-
tion. However, whenever it has been stored
under extreme temperatures, it should be
allowed to acclimate to the ambient tempe-
rature before the first measurement.
Information about EC, activity and pH
The optimal supply of plant nutrients is a key
requirement for successfully cultivating flori-
culture and crops. Thus, it is very important
to check guideline values such as pH, salinity
and conductivity. If a measurement is below
the guideline value, this indicates a possible
deficiency or root-damaging salt accumula-
tions caused by over-fertilization.
