Chapter 2 — Site Requirements
Fire Protection To comply with the OSHA Directive for Fixed
Extinguishing Systems (General, 1910.160), the library has a punch-out in
the cover for each frame and a corresponding cut-out in the top of each
frame for the purpose of attaching a hose or nozzle from your site's fixed
extinguishing system.

Shock and Vibration The library will operate normally after experiencing
shock loads as specified in the following table. The operating shock levels
indicate how much shock the library can withstand while the enclosed
drives are reading and writing data. The non-operating and storage shock
levels indicate how much shock the library can withstand when it is not
operating. After experiencing this amount of shock, the library will operate
normally.
