POWER STEERING PRECAUTIONS

1. Power steering functions only when
the engine is running. Steering may be
slightly harder at low engine speed.
2. Turning the steering wheel will be
more difficult when the tractor is not
moving; and it will increase tire wear.
3. The use of front mounted equipment
such as a loader will affect steering
effort. When using front mounted
equipment, adjust the front tire pres-
sure and install the appropriate coun-
terweight per instructions in this
manual. Steering while the tractor is
in motion is recommended.
4. Avoid turning the steering wheel to its
extreme position. The noise that oc-
curs is the relief valve which is de-
signed to prevent damage to the hy-
draulic system. Other hydraulic func-
tions can be adversely affected by
continuously holding the steering
wheel in the extreme position.
5. In cold weather, allow the system to
warm up so that the steering func-
tions properly.
6. When servicing or repairing the steer-
ing system, take precautions to avoid
oil contamination.
7. Power steering makes the steering
wheel very easy to turn. Be careful at
all times, especially at higher speeds.
8. When adding or changing the oil, use
only the prescribed oil.

USING IMPLEMENTS SAFELY

1. Do not allow anyone to stand near the
tractor, or between the tractor and
implement, when attaching or remov-
ing implements.
2. Remove and attach implements on a
firm, level surface. Use proper light-
ing at night.
3. Use appropriate balance weights
when mounting heavy implements.
4. Before making any adjustments to an
implement; turn off the PTO, stop the
engine, and apply the parking brake.
Ensure that all moving parts have
stopped.
5. Always use the drawbar for pulling
and towing. Attaching a load or imple-
ment to any other part of the tractor
may cause damage or upset.
6. When working on slopes, increase the
tread width (open wheels) to improve
stability.
7. The tractor is longer with implements
attached. Use extra care when turn-
ing and be alert for bystanders and
obstacles.
8. Use only approved counterweights to
achieve a safe balance. Never use
people or other objects.
9. When using a front loader, maintain
stability by adding a rear counter-
weight or a rear-mounted implement.
WARNING
Read and understand both the
tractor and implement manuals
before using. Use implements only
for their intended purpose to
avoid equipment damage and
personal injury.

ATTACHING AN IMPLEMENT

CAUTION
A label with attachment instruc-
tions can be found on imple-
ments manufactured by DAE-
DONG.
When attaching an implement that
does not require high traction
(such as a mower), connect the
top link to position A.
When attaching an implement that
requires high traction (such as a
plow), connect the top link to po-
sition B or C. Position C is used
for implements where greater
sensitivity and response are re-
quired (plow, box blade).
Always use position A when
transporting any implement. Fail-
ure to do so may result in unex-
pected
movement
of
implement.
