High-Resolution Colour Surveillance
Camera in the Dome Housing
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to installing the unit and keep them for later
reference.
1 Applications
This colour camera with zoom lens and 24 infrared LEDs
is especially designed for applications in video surveil-
lance systems (CCTV). Due to its robust metal housing it
is vandal-proof and weather-proof (IP 66) and can there-
fore also be used outdoors. When darkness falls, the IR
LEDs illuminate the surveillance area up to 25 m and the
camera is switched to B / W operation.
2 Important Notes
The camera corresponds to all relevant directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
.
CAUTION When setting up the camera, never look di-
rectly into the lit IR LEDs from a close range. The infrared
light may cause eye irritation. However, the infrared ra-
diation is far below the emission limit and rated risk-free
according to EN 62471.
G
Protect the camera against extreme temperatures (ad-
missible ambient temperature range -10 °C to +50 °C).
G
For cleaning do not use aggressive detergents or chem-
icals.
G
No guarantee claims for the camera and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage will
be accepted if the camera is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly installed or
not repaired in an expert way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation defin-
itively, take it to a local recycling plant for a dis-
posal which is not harmful to the environment.

3 Installation

IMPORTANT! Only remove the protective foil of the
dome after all works have been completed. Impurities
and scratches may cause light reflections at the dome
when the IR LEDs are lit.
1) Unscrew the three screws (15) of the dome with the
supplied key and remove the dome (14).
2) To determine the perfect place of mounting, a test run
should be made. The connection cable may be guided
laterally or through the bottom of the housing shell (4).
Protect the cable inlet against penetration of humidity.

Close the cable inlet which is not used with the large
flat screw. Fix the housing shell at a suitable place with
two screws (5).
3) Fasten the camera plate (7) at the housing shell with
the supplied screws (13).
4)
IMPORTANT! The connections (1 and 2) and the
cable distributor (3) are not weatherproof. In case of
outdoor installation they have to be protected ac-
cordingly.
Connect the BNC inline jack (2) to the video input of a
monitor. With a cable length of more than 100 m a
video amplifier should be inserted between the cam-
era and the cable to compensate level loss.
To facilitate the adjustments, a mobile monitor
may be connected to the additional video output
EXT_VIDEO on the PCB with the control lever (6) via
a matching plug.
Connect a regulated 12 V power supply unit with a
permanent rating of 0.5 A (e. g. PSS-1210DC or PS-
120WP from MONACOR) to the low voltage inline
jack (1). A low voltage plug 5.5 / 2.1 mm (outside / inside
diameter) is required. Ensure the correct polarity (cen-
tre contact = positive pole).
5) Switch on the connected monitor and align the camera
module by means of the monitor image: Turn the cam-
era module in the support (8) and the support on the
plate as desired. The cover (9) can be removed, if nec-
essary. When all adjustments have been made, fasten
the camera dome.
4 Adjusting Zoom, Focus and Image Position
First make the zoom adjustment with the second rotary
ring (11). Then adjust a clear picture with the front rotary
ring (12). If the camera picture on the monitor should not
be aligned horizontally, the picture can be turned with the
rear rotary ring (10).
5 Adjustments via the On-screen Menu
The on-screen menu is operated with the control lever (6).
To insert the menu, keep the control lever pushed down
until the main menu appears:
