Colour Surveillance Camera
GB
with 30 Infrared LEDs
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to installation and keep them for later refer-
ence.
1 Applications
This colour camera is specially designed for video
surveillance systems (CCTV). It is equipped with a
zoom lens (6 – 50 mm) and offers various features,
e. g. automatic day/night switching with IR suppres-
sion filter, backlight compensation, digital noise
reduction, mirror function, motion detection and
masking function to conceal areas not to be moni-
tored. Due to its weatherproof housing (IP 66), the
camera is also suitable for outdoor use. When it is
dark, the 30 IR LEDs will illuminate up to 70 m of
the surveillance zone.
2 Important Notes
The camera corresponds to all relevant directives
of the EU and is therefore marked with
CAUTION When it gets dark, the IR LEDs will be
activated. When setting up the camera, never
look directly into the lit IR LEDs from a close
range. The infrared light may cause eye irritation.
However, the infrared radiation is far below the
emission limit and rated risk-free according to
EN 62471.
G
Protect the camera against extreme tempera-
tures (admissible ambient temperature range
−10 °C to +50 °C).
G
The camera housing is weatherproof; however,
it is not completely watertight. Therefore, do not
immerse the camera in water.
G
For cleaning never use aggressive detergents or
chemicals.
G
No guarantee claims for the camera and no lia-
bility for any resulting personal damage or mate-
rial damage will be accepted if the camera is
used for other purposes than originally intended,
if it is not correctly installed, or if it is not repaired
in an expert way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the
environment.

3 Installation

1) To find the ideal place for installation, a test run
is recommended. Then use three screws to fas-
.
ten the camera support (2) to a suitable place
on the ceiling or wall.
2)
IMPORTANT! The connections (9 and 10) and
the cable splitter (8) are not weatherproof. For
outdoor installation, protect them accordingly.
Connect the BNC inline jack (10) to the video
input of a monitor. With a cable length of more
than 100 m, it is recommended to insert a video
amplifier between the camera and the cable to
compensate level loss.
To make settings easier, a mobile monitor
can be connected to the additional video output
(6) using the cable "Extra Video" provided. To
connect the cable, unscrew the cap (5).
3) Connect a regulated 12 V power supply unit
with a permanent rating of 0.5 A (e. g. PSS-
1210DC or PS-120WP from MONACOR) to the
low-voltage inline jack (9). A low-voltage plug
5.5 / 2.1 mm (outside/inside diameter) is re -
quired. Always observe the correct polarity
(centre contact = positive pole). The camera is
switched on when the operating voltage has
been applied.
4) Switch on the monitor connected and align the
camera by means of the image on the monitor:
Release the corresponding locking screws (1)
of the support using the hex key provided, align
the camera and fasten the screws again.
5) Install the sunshield on the camera, if required.
