When the calendar timer function is to be used, attach the separately sold backup battery.

KEY POINTS
The backup battery is for CPS4*/CPS3 series. It cannot be attached to

CPS21. The calendar timer can continue the operation for about one week
for CPS4*/CPS3 and about two weeks for CPS21 by the built-in capacitor,
even if no battery is used.
In order to charge the built-in capacitor, supply power to the CPU unit for at

least 30 minutes.
