Basics

Introduction
All modules of the ET 200MP distributed I/O system are open resources. This means that
you may only install the ET 200MP distributed I/O system in housings, cabinets or electrical
operating areas. These housings, cabinets or electrical operating areas must only be
accessible with a key or tool. Access may only be possible for instructed or authorized
personnel.
Installation position
The ET 200MP distributed I/O system can be installed in a horizonal or vertical position. It
may be necessary to restrict the ambient temperature in certain installation positions.

conditions (Page 103).
Mounting rail
For the ET 200MP distributed I/O system, a mounting rail is used, on which components can
also be installed according to EN 60715. Thus in addition to the ET 200MP distributed I/O
system, you can also directly install terminals, circuit breakers, small contactors or similar
components.
These components can influence the installation dimensions for the cable duct.
The mounting rail allows a marginless installation.
The mounting rails are available in various lengths. You can order them via the online
catalog or the online ordering system. The order numbers are listed in the chapter
Accessories / Spare Parts (Page 113).
