A. Switching Module Connectors–
the Control Cable from the first
Switching Module of the associated
Chain attaches to these male-ended
connectors; CH0 is for attaching to
the Chain associated with the top
button of the Dual Chain Module,
CH1 is for the Chain associated with
thelower button. (See Figure 35,
Installation Section.)
B. Parallel Data Connectors – these
cables are attached in series from
one Dual Chain Module (or Feature
Module) to another and to the Control
Module. They carry the switching logic
instructions between the MVP Control
Module and the Dual Chain Modules.
C. Parallel Power Connectors – these
connectors bus power between the
Control Module and the Dual Chain Modules.
D. DIP Switches – the two DIP switches located on the Dual Chain Module, one for each
Chain, control three parameters of its operation:
Component Auto-Rotate – See page 19. Since you may not want to rotate certain types
of components, this feature can be enabled or disabled (on a per Chain basis) using DIP
Switch position #2. If a Chain is set for Speaker, however (see below), Auto-Rotate is
automatically enabled without setting the Rotate DIP Switch.
Bypass – Certain types of processor components such as Amplifiers, Equalizers,
Crossovers, etc. may require the option of being either included or bypassed during the
demonstration process. For example, some of the source units in an Autosound display
may have high-level output in addition to low-level output. This signal could be wired to
bypass through any Processor Components (amps, EQs), and play directly to Speakers.
Position #3 of the DIP Switch selects whether a Chain will have or not have this option. If
the Bypass option is enabled, the signal path will be routed past this Chain during
demonstrations when no component in this Chain has been selected. If the Bypass option
is not enabled, a component from this Chain must be selected or the signal will terminate
at that Chain's input. (Variations in Switching Module wiring are required depending upon
this DIP Switch setting – see Installation Section for more information.)
Component or Speaker – Using DIP Switch position #4, each Chain must be designated
either as a Speaker Chain or a Chain of other components (i.e., any audio or video
component other than Speakers).
Component Setting – When a Chain is set for Component, no dropout and delay of
components in that Chain will occur when a component change is made in a different
