Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel for Linux
The Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Release 2 for Linux is a recommended kernel that is
installed by default on Oracle Linux 5.9 and 6.3 and can be installed on Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 5.9, 6.3, and 6.4.
The Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Release 2 for Linux is the second major release of
Oracle's heavily tested and optimized operating system kernel for Oracle Linux 5 and Oracle
Linux 6. It is based on the 3.0.16 mainline Linux kernel and contains improvements and new
features that have been incorporated into mainline Linux since the first version of the kernel.

Installs an OS to a single server using one of the following methods:
Locally: OS installation is performed locally at the server. Use this option if
you have just completed the physical installation of the server in the chassis.
Additional hardware is required.
Remotely: OS installation is performed from a remote location. Use the Oracle
ILOM Remote Console application to access Oracle System Assistant or to
perform a manual OS installation.
Oracle System Assistant is the easiest method for local or remote
