Commissioning

We recommend commissioning using the
WMS studio PC software.

The device may only be commissioned by
a certified electrician. When learning in the
product, tasks are required with the flush-
mounted box open and the 230 V operating
voltage switched on.
To commission the WMS Transmitter, you need a WMS
Hand-held transmitter or, even better, a WMS Central
transmitter.
The WMS Transmitter has a red LED and a green LED
on the back to indicate the status during commissioning.
If the WMS Transmitter receives a wave command, both
LEDs light up for 3 s. An internal reed contact replaces the
usual learn button for safety reasons. Learning processes
are initiated by holding a magnet against the back of the
WMS Transmitter.
Switch on the operating supply for the WMS Transmit-
ter. The device is then ready to operate.
Take up the WMS Transmitter in the radio network.
(When the receiver is delivered, it does not "know" any
transmitters initially and first needs to learn to which
transmitters it should respond. We refer to this process
as "learning".)
Copy the desired channel from the hand-held transmit-
ter/central control unit into the WMS Transmitter.
The WMS Transmitter can now operate the products in

the channel.

In addition, you can obtain the "WMS in
practice" brochure with numerous practical
examples of learning, making settings and
WMS networks; the brochure is available free of
charge from your specialist dealer. Alternatively,
the brochure can be downloaded at:
http://www.warema.de → Products → Controls
→ WAREMA Mobile System. The WAREMA
Mobile System also enables a wide range of
special functions. Should you require further in-
formation, your specialist dealer will be pleased
to give you the WMS application brochure.
Learning in (scanning)
Before a WMS receiver can be operated via the trans-
mitter, it must be included as a device in the respective
radio network. The WMS Transmitter can be detected by a
central control unit or a hand-held transmitter and added
to the network.
With a WMS Central transmitter:
Proceed as described in the "Learn in/out hand-held
transmitt./CCU" chapter. The WMS Transmitter is referred
to in the display as the "Control panel".

Copying the product channel into the WMS
Transmitter
To be able to operate products, you need to copy a chan-
nel from a WMS Hand-held transmitter or a WMS Central
transmitter to the WMS Transmitter. If a corresponding
channel does not yet exist, learn the desired products
into a channel of the hand-held transmitter or the central
control unit.
Now copy this channel into the WMS Transmitter.
With a WMS Central transmitter:
Proceed as described in the "Allocating a channel to
another control panel" chapter. When you are prompted to
press the L button, hold the magnet against the back of
the WMS Transmitter for approx. 1 s (close to the printed
radio waves symbol). The green LED flashes and the WMS
Central transmitter confirms the copying process.
