Laser Clear Aperture

The laser clear aperture is the area on the exit window that intersects the exit beam envelope as shown in
Figure
2-3. Note that at any instance in time, the outgoing laser beam is collimated and approximately 1 mm in
diameter, while during scanner operation the beam is constrained within the exit beam envelope. For

collection beam envelope. In both cases, ensure that the paths are free of obstructions. Also incorporate a
minimum of a 0.020" to 0.040" spacing between the clear apertures and the window borders.
