Notes on control unit diagnosis

KTS Truck is supplied with power by way of either the
adapter cable with battery clips provided, the connect-
ing cable for the cigarette lighter socket or the OBD
interface in the vehicle.

On some vehicles, the ignition must be switched on
for power to be supplied via the OBD interface.
Connection to the diagnostic interface in the vehicle is
made by way of one of the following:

OBD diagnostic cable (Fig. 3, Item 4)
R
OBD diagnostic cable together with vehicle-specific
adapter cable (Fig. 3, Item 3) (special accessory)
R
Universal adapter cable (Fig. 3, Item 5)

Make sure the OBD diagnostic cable is properly
connected to KTS Truck. Incorrect connection could
cause the pins of the connector to bend or break off.
Only use the OBD diagnostic cable contained in the
scope of delivery.

Updating ESI[tronic] 2.0

Updating is performed as described in Section 4.1.

On updating, the data (e.g. licensing, user settings,
vehicles selected) are not deleted.

Information on problems

Refer to the notes in Sections 2.5, 3.5.3 and 3.6.2 in
the event of transmission problems during control
unit diagnosis.

Diagnostic hardware not found

No diagnostic hardware (KTS Truck) was found on
establishing communication with the control unit.
The fault message Fault in connection to KTS
Truck appears. Check the USB or Bluetooth
connection and re-establish the link.
Possible causes Action to be taken
No external power Check whether KTS Truck is being
supply supplied with external power (OBD
diagnostic cable, adapter cable with
battery clips, connecting cable for
cigarette lighter socket).
LED B on KTS Truck must flash (green).
Fault in connection
1. Check whether the correct type of
to KTS Truck connection has been selected in the
main menu under "K�S module".
