3.4
MAIN COMPONENTS
The machine is composed of the following main
components that have the following functions (Fig.1 ):
A.
Chassis: it is the casing that encloses
the rotating cutting means.
Engine: supplies the drive power
B.
to the cutting means;
C.
Cutting means: it is the element
designed to cut the grass.
D.
Rear discharge guard: it is a safety device which
prevents objects drawn up by the cutting means
from being hurled away from the machine.
E.
Grass catcher: apart from collecting the cut grass,
it also constitutes a safety element, preventing
any objects collected by the cutting means from
being projected away from the machine.
F.
Handle: this is the operator's work station. It is long
enough to ensure the operator remains at a safe
distance from the rotary cutting means whilst working.
G.
Battery (if it is not supplied with the machine, see
chapter 15 "accessories on request"): provides the
energy for starting the motor; its specifications and
regulations for use are described in a specific manual.
H.
Switch command: starts/stops the engine and at the
same time engages/disengages the cutting means
I.
Hatch for accessing the battery compartment
J.
Safety key (Deactivation device) :
The key activates / deactivates the
electric circuit of the machine.
K.
Battery charger (if it is not supplied with the
machine, see chapter 15 "accessories on
request"): device used to recharge the battery.
4.
ASSEMBLY
The safety regulations to follow are
described in chap. 2. Strictly comply with these
instructions to avoid serious risks or hazards.
For storage and transport purposes, some components of
the machine are not installed in the factory and have to be
assembled after unpacking. Follow the instructions below.
Unpacking and completing the assembly should
be done on a flat and stable surface, with enough
space for machine handling and its packaging,
always making use of suitable equipment. Do not
use the machine until all the indications provided
in the "ASSEMBLY" section have been carried out.
4.1
ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS
The packaging includes assembly components.
4.1.1
Unpacking
1.
Carefully open the packaging, paying
attention not to lose components.
2.
Consult the documentation in the box,
including these instructions.
3.
Remove all the unassembled parts from the box.
4.
Dispose of the box and packaging in
compliance with local regulations.
Before assembling, make sure the safety
key is not inserted into its housing.
4.2
GRASS CATCHER ASSEMBLY
• Type "I"
– Join the two upper (Fig. 3.A) and lower (Fig.
3.B) components of the grass catcher,
correctly fitting all the outer fittings.
– Fit the handle (Fig. 3.C) on the upper part
of the grass catcher, inserting it in the
appropriate slots, until a click is heard.
– Mount the conveyor (Fig.3.D) in the indicated
position, fitting all the fittings correctly.
• Type "II"
– Join the two lateral components (Fig. 4.A) (Fig.
4.B) of the grass catcher and then fit the upper part
(Fig. 4.C), correctly fitting all the outer fittings.
– Fit the handle (Fig. 4.D) on the upper part
of the grass catcher, inserting it in the
appropriate slots, until a click is heard.
– Mount the conveyor (Fig.5.E) in the indicated
position, fitting all the fittings correctly.
4.3
HANDLE ASSEMBLY
• Type "I"
– Insert the lower right part and the left part (Fig.5.A)
of the handle in their seats and fasten them with
the screws and knobs (Fig.5.B) supplied.
– Fasten the upper part of the handle (Fig.5.C)
to the lower part using the knobs (Fig.5.D)
and the screws supplied (Fig.5.E).
– Apply the cable clamp (Fig.5.F) in the indicated
position and hook the cable (Fig.5.G).
• Type "II"
– Fit the two rotating blocks (Fig.6.A) on the lower parts
of the handle (Fig.6.B) and insert the assembly on
the screws protruding from the chassis (Fig.6.C).
– Insert the washers (Fig.6.D) on the screws
and tighten the knobs (Fig.6.D) after
having assembled the pins (Fig.6.D).
– The knobs must be screwed in order to
ensure a stable fastening, without requiring
excessive effort to lock or unlock them.
– Fasten the upper part of the handle (Fig.6.G)
to the lower part using the knobs (Fig.6.H)
and the screws supplied (Fig.6.I).
– Apply the cable clamp (Fig.6.J) in the indicated
position and hook the cable (Fig.6.K).
