• The unit has an input resistance of 10 MΩ in all voltage measuring
ranges.

4.2 AC and DC Current Measurement

Important Notice!
• The maximum current which can be measured without damage to the unit
is 20 A. Do not connect any power source directly to the power measur-
ing sockets of the unit. Make sure you do not attempt to measure cur-
rents of over 20 ampere and terminate a measuring of high currents after
a maximum of 10 seconds.
For taking current measurements, the circuit ids broken and the instrument is
connected in series.
Procedure
1. Set the rotary function switch (3) to the corresponding position "20
µA", "2 mA", "20 mA", "200 mA" or "20 A". In the Display the correct
measuring inputs are indicated as filled symbols (20).
2. Connect the red probe to the µA/mA input (4) or to the A input (5) and
insert the black probe to the COM input (10).
3. Break the circuit after the circuitry or component has been discon-
nected from all power sources. Place the probes in series to the con-
sumer or the circuitry you intend to measure. When measuring DC
current, observe correct polarity if possible (Red to Plus and Black to
Minus).
4. Now reconnect the circuitry to the power source.
5. Now the result can be read from the LC display. If a negative current is
measured, a minus symbol is displayed to the left of the result. If nec-
essary, correct the polarity by changing the probes on the circuit or on
the component.
6. Depending on the position of the rotary function switch AC or DC are
indicated in the display and the measured value is displayed in A or
