This test will verify the proper operation of the BRC within a studio configuration. This test
should be performed on every BRC serviced. Furthermore, this test should be conducted only after all
modifications and/or repairs on the unit have been completed (See Appendix B).
All of the BRC's basic functions will be tested; including loading and saving data to the ADAT
tape, Tape Offset, Auto Punch, Auto Loop, Pre Roll and Post Roll. Finally, all of the BRC's self test
routines will be verified.
This test procedure has been divided into two parts. The first part contains those tests which
must be completed for all BRCs serviced. Part 2 contains tests which can only be conducted with the use
of two ADATs. If two ADATs are not available, the tests in part 2 may be omitted. However,
understand that the only way to be confident that the BRC is functioning properly is by completing all of
the tests described in this procedure. At the very least, all of the tests described in part 1 should be
conducted.
When conducting this test, use the data sheet provided to record the results of the test.
These tests require the use of only 1 ADAT and should be conducted on every BRC serviced.
