If the SDLT drive fails during POST or operation, use Table 4–1 to determine the
problem and the action to take. Power down the SDLT drive before performing a
corrective action

The system might not
be configured to see the
SCSI ID.
The SCSI ID might not
be unique.
The parameters for the
SCSI adapter might be
incorrect.
The SCSI signal cable
might be loose.
Action
Configure the system to
see the ID.
Change the SCSI ID
and reconfigure the
system. The new ID is
effective at the next
power-on.
Check the SCSI adapter
installation and ID
assignment.
Make sure the
connector on each end
of the cable is seated.
