Most backup software specifies that the tape drive write at its highest density. With the
SDLT 160/320 tape drive, this density is SDLT160 format.
The Density Select application, available on the Density Select Software CD included
in the SDLT kit, provides a way for you to write data cartridges with an SDLT 160/320
tape drive that are backward compatible with SDLT 110/220 tape drives.

Specifying a Device

When you start the Density Select application, it scans the bus for SCSI devices and
lists those devices in the Device list box by SCSI ID. The options in the Density Select
window are unavailable until you select an SDLT 160/320 tape drive .
To specify a device, select the SDLT 160/320 tape drive from the Device drop-down
list box.
The full name of the device displays in the message bar at the bottom of the Density
Select window.
